Neocon 2008
9-11 June, Booth 4022 on the 7th Floor
Halo Floors will be
introducing:
Twisted Plains and Dark
woods
"Twisted Plains" - a range
of pastel plain colored tiles which can be used simply as a solid
color or with the added twist of an overlay, for example a spot or a
fern effect. This allows the designer to use just a single color but
add interest by adding a little visual panache on some of the tiles.
These have been specifically co-ordinated for the healthcare market.
Not only pastels but also solid brights can be used as the tile or
the base, particularly useful in the retail environment.
There are also 3 new wood introductions, Brown Ebony, Britannia and
Walnut catering to the new fashion for dark woods.
All products can be manufactured with a COF of .86 Dry (.85 Wet)
where a higher than normal slip resistance is required.

Not sure Orlando was
quite the right place for this show particularly during Spring Break
and with the National Cheerleaders Competition on at the Convention
Centre on at the same time!
Next year we are back
in Vegas and that's probably a good decision. However there are a
couple of thoughts which would be good to hear other peoples views
about.
Firstly would it be
better for this show to be alternate years Euroshop for example is
every three years and is exceptionally well attended by both
exhibitors and visitors. Maybe every year is just too much?
The second question
should the booths be clustered by type of product? Some exhibitors
felt that it might be better to have manufacturers mixed up and gave
the following reasons:
1.Visitors may go into
overload after being on one booth after another all showing the same
type of product line.
2.If a purchaser wants
to seriously look at another supplier it can be difficult if their
usual supplier is in close proximity and easily visible.

Feedback
Halo Showcases

Neocon 2005

Well, was this
the best Neocon
for a long time?
Certainly most
people I spoke
to seemed to
think so.
Walking the show
I saw some great
products and it
was good to see
lots of color
also. Does this
mean the economy
is now out of
the doldrums and
picking up
albeit not to
the heady
heights of
yesteryear?
One sign was the
ads run by
Gensler in every
issue of the
show daily, who
are looking for
new designers
due to the level
of business they
have. When
designers are
busy then
suppliers are
busy!
The last day of
the show was
packed with
design students,
and isn't it a
joy to talk to
these keen young
people whose
minds are so
open and thirsty
for everything
new.
If anyone has
their own
observations
they would like
to make we would
be happy to add
them to our
website.
Have a great
holiday weekend.
